WILKES-BARRE -- A woman told Newswatch 16 that she was holding her 5-month-old grandson when a drive-by shooter opened fire on her apartment Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Hazle Street around 2:30 p.m. but were unable to catch the driver.
RaeEllen Andrews said someone opened fire when her son tried leaving through the front door.
"There was a baby and myself sitting on the couch. One of us could have got hit. I don't know if there's a vendetta against somebody, but this is what happens and someone innocent could have got killed,” said Andrews. "There was a lot of gunshots. I don't know how many there was, but one hit (the refrigerator).”
Andrews told Newswatch 16 that no one was hit by the drive-by shooter and she is now looking for a new place to live.
Wilkes-Barre police have not yet released a description of the car or person that they are looking for in connection to the drive-by shooting.
