MUNCY-TWP. - The snow did not stop people in Lycoming County from shopping on this traditionally busy shopping day. It just made them head to the malls a little earlier than they normally would have.
Shopping bags were filled with clothing, shoes and appliances at the Lycoming Mall. Shoppers crowded the mall bright and early the day after Christmas.
"We're coming to the mall to make returns. Some things that we got two of or didn't fit," Ron Urbanski said.
"I actually bought gifts that were too small, so I had to go out and exchange the sizes," Cathy Harrinman said.
Cathy Harrinman drove to Muncy Township from Sullivan County. She wanted to beat the weather.
"I had a couple of exchanges to make, so I thought I'd run out before the storm and try to get the exchanges done," Harrinman said.
A lot of shoppers agreed. The Lycoming Mall was busy in the morning, but after lunchtime, the crowds thinned out. In addition to making returns and exchanges, shoppers took advantage of the sales.
"I brought my daughter and my beautiful granddaughters and we're looking for bargains. We found a lot of nice things already and we're going to find some more," Merit Tompkins said.
"Santa Claus brought gift cards for my daughters, so we are shopping and hitting the sales," Amanda Emig said.
A lot of shoppers say the bargains before Christmas were good, but the sales after Christmas are even better.
"Winter clothing, coats. Winter things for the girls that they can still wear for the next three months," Tompkins said.
Most of the post-Christmas sales will still be going on tomorrow and the rest of the week, so once the snow clears up, you can come and take advantage.
