WILKES-BARRE – A robber got away with cash during a Christmas Day hold-up in Wilkes-Barre.

Police said the robbery happened just before 10:00 in the morning at Hazle Mart, at the corner of Hazle and Blackman streets. They say a man wearing a white bandana over his face walked into the store. The robber showed the clerk a box cutter and demanded cash from the register and from the lottery machine.

He got away with an unknown amount of money. Police say the robber was last seen going west on Blackman Street in a newer, brown Toyota.

Police describe the robber as a white male, about 5’10”. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and a black ski cap.
