WILKES-BARRE -- Five-year-old Kevin Miller was killed after being hit by a car Friday night in Wilkes-Barre.  Police said after he was hit, the car drove off.

Authorities said Miller was rushed to the hospital after being hit crossing West North Street in Wilkes-Barre around 11:00 p.m.  He later died due to the severe injuries.

State Police and Wilkes-Barre Police were on scene Saturday morning performing accident reconstruction. They said that the family left a Christmas party at a nearby home around eleven o'clock Friday night. While Miller and his family crossed the street when the five year old was struck. Witnesses said that the driver of the vehicle never stopped.

"I just heard this loud crash and I looked out the window," said Olivia McBride. "I saw the two little babies running down the street after the car and I saw the car speed back and run down the street."

Police said they were able to get a description of the vehicle from witnesses and surveillance video. They are looking for a two-door red Pontiac Grand AM with a sun or moon roof. The car should have front end or side damage.
