Pocono Lutheran Village Sold to Local Group

EAST STROUDSBURG — A Monroe County personal care community facility that was planning to close next year, was sold Wednesday to local group and will remain open.

Pocono Lutheran Village was sold by Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries to a group known as Pocono Tranquil Gardens.  The purchase price was not released.

The facility on 329 East Brown Street will be renamed Pocono Tranquil Gardens.

Before this transaction, Pocono Lutheran Village planned to close January 13, 2013.

Diakon opened the senior living center in 2001.
