Hot chocolate is a staple when the weather gets cold, especially around the holidays.

This week's Taste Test is new Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts from Kellogg's.

We found some kids who were in the holiday spirit at an event in Scranton to give 'em a whirl.

The classic children's book, "The Polar Express," by Chris Van Allsburg, was the inspiration for a Friday night of holiday fun at The Lackawanna Children's Library in Scranton.

Kids could make train ornaments, watch the model trains zip around the track, and there was even homemade hot chocolate.

A perfect place if we ever saw one to try new Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts from Kellogg's.

Most of the kids liked the chocolate Pop-Tart pastry with a gooey marshmallow filling, especially when we popped them in the toaster.

"I like it and it's good," Morteca Hamidi from Scranton.

"It tastes mostly like cream, but it's marshmallow," said 8-year-old Helena Mokhtari from Scranton.

A serving size is one pastry.

Each one has 190 calories, four grams of fat, and 19 grams of sugar.

Twin brothers Evan and Alex Stabinski liked the Pop-Tarts.

"You gotta try 'em!" said 7-year-old Evan.

Surprisingly, the librarian-turned-conductor, is somewhat of a Pop-Tart aficionado.

Laureen Maloney, head of Children's Services at Lackawanna Children's Library said, "I like the brown sugar cinnamon ones better... I am a big Pop-Tart fan because they came out when I was a kid back in the 60's."

New Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts are $1.98 a box at Walmart.

Eight pastries come in a box.
