POTTSVILLE -- Jennifer Bossler of Pottsville is on her way to Schuylkill County Court where she admitted saying that she killed her 13-month-old baby back in April. She pleaded no contest to a charge of homicide and was sentenced to 7.5 to 15 years in state prison.

According to prosecutors, Jennifer Bossler used to live in an apartment on Market Street with her baby, James. They say one day, James was crying for his father and Bossler smothered the baby.

Richard Gates said he is Bossler's father and the victim's grandfather.

"I'm very heartbroken, I don't know what to do, I`m lost. I still love her, it was wrong what she did, she has to pay for what she had done," Gates said.

The neighborhood is reacting too. Amanda Carl said she is expecting a child of her own.

"That`s a horrible thing to do and you should have more respect for your children," Carl said.

John Sadusky is a father and said Bossler will answer to a higher power.

"To bring a child into this world and to do that it's very sinful you know what i mean? She needs to be punished, also by God the way I look at it because that's God's child that she took, she killed," Sadusky said.

Jennifer Bossler's family knows they'll never see baby James grow up and enjoy Christmas and that his mother will spend at least seven years worth of holidays behind bars.
