Jolly Old Saint Nick took some time out of his busy schedule to stop by Lackawanna County for a visit.

Santa Claus met with children in Scranton Sunday.

He posed for pictures with children at Tripp Park Community House on Dorothy Street.

Kids let Santa know what's on their wish list.

They were treated to hot chocolate and cookies, music and crafts.

"The kids just love it and that's what it's all about, just look at their faces," said Linda Marx. "This is what Christmas is all about. It's wonderful."

The annual free event was sponsored by the Tripp Park Neighborhood Association in Scranton.

Santa also visited Dunmore in Lackawanna County.

Fire trucks, police, and military vehicles drove down Blakely Street Sunday afternoon with Saint Nick on board one of the trucks.

After the parade, Santa visited with all of the families who came to see him.

The children got a stocking filled with all kinds of treats.

The Dunmore Rotary Club sponsored the parade.

Children in Luzerne County are on a mission this holiday season to help make 8,000 cookies.

Children at Exaltation of the Holy Cross church in Hanover Township spent a few hours Sunday cooking up some goodies.

They're preparing for the church's Christmas cookie walk near Wilkes-Barre.

The youth ministry baked batches of oatmeal, chocolate chip, and gingerbread cookies.

The Christmas cookie walk takes place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church in Luzerne County.
