This could be a picture perfect season for the Holy Cross Crusaders basketball team.(25-5) a year ago and had a great state playoff run. A solid nucleus returns along with first team all-state center Josh Kosin.

"There's no question Josh was our main guy last year, but at different times during the year we couldn't have made the run we had without guys like Casey Gaughen, Corey Joyce, Conner Jones. Guys like that they came off the bench scored 7 or 8 points looked people down, rebounded, it's a team effort and we look forward to more of the same," said Al Callejas.

"I'm most looking forward to having everybody back. We only lost two seniors who started. So we have high expectations for ourselves. We've been working off-season trying to get stronger, quicker, faster so I think we're looking forward to it," said Josh Kosin.

You look at this Holy Cross team and the guys they have coming back they should be good. Last year in the AA Eastern Final they lost in the final seconds to Imhotep Charter. Imhotep then goes on to win the state championship game in overtime over Beaver Falls, and for Connor Callejas and these Crusaders they might get back to that point again this season but first things first they're looking forward to league play here in the Lackawanna league.

"The league is very good this year. We know Mid Valley got a lot better. Dunmore is still always good, then you always have Riverside and Old Forge and a couple new teams that came into our league. So we understand that we're going to have a target on our back from winning it last year. So we're going to come back and play as hard as we can," said Connor Callejas.

Holy Cross opens up with Abington Heights Friday December 7th 2012.
