MEHOOPANY TOWNSHIP — A fire destroyed a home in Wyoming County Saturday afternoon.

According to the fire chief, flames started in the second floor of a home off Route 87 around 12:30 p.m.  No one was home at the time.

The chief said he’s unsure how it began.  It is under investigation.

It took firefighters around two hours to contain the flames.  No one was hurt.
