Drug Bust Nets Seven Suspects

HAZLETON — A drug bust in Luzerne County landed seven behind bars.

Police said thousands of dollars worth of heroin is off the streets.

Authorities called it Operation Ice Cream, a five-month investigation by the city, county and state.

Officers seized more than $20,000 worth of heroin, and more than $4,000 in cash.

The suspects — Luis Rodriguez, Brandesky Santos, Jorge Rivera-Castellanos, Elizabeth Rivera-Castellanos, Sindy Arroyo-Quintanna, Nestor Rivera and Christopher Simmons, all from the Hazleton area — were picked up at a house on West First Street in Hazleton Thursday.
