WILLIAMSPORT -- A woman from Lycoming County will spend up to 25 years in prison for allowing a three-year-old girl to be sexually assaulted.
Samantha Mathers of Williamsport helped her husband Richard Lafayette sexually abuse the girl in 2011.
The 12 and a half to 25 year sentence was issued Tuesday in Lycoming County.
In April, Lycoming County Judge Marc Lovecchio found Mathers, 25, guilty of criminal conspiracy to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child, criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated indecent assault, sexual exploitation of children, endangering welfare of children as a parent, and corruption of minors.
According to court papers, Mathers and Lafayette chatted online about having sex with a young child.
Lafayette was a serviceman stationed in Afghanistan and later, Fort Drum, New York.
The two later met and eventually married.
Lafayette was sentenced in February on one count of criminal solicitation to commit rape.
