DALLAS — Misericordia University has selected Thomas Botzman, Ph.D. as the 13th president of the institution. His presidency will begin on July 1, 2013.
Dr. Botzman served as vice president for business and finance at Saint Mary’s College of Maryland since 2004. He also served as interim vice president for development and secretary to the Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2010.
Dr. Botzman was a member of the faculty at Mount Union College in Ohio for 15 years. He was a visiting professor at the University of the Americas in Mexico City, teaching the several times between 1992 to 1996.
He received his bachelors degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His masters in economics and Ph.D. in business administration both were earned at Kent State University.
Dr. Botzman was selected by a search committee that comprised of trustees, faculty members, alumni, and a student.
Misericordia University is a four-year college that was founded in 1924 in Luzerne County.
