JERSEY SHORE -- People in our area continue their efforts to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, nearly one month after the storm hammered the east coast.

A collection is underway in Lycoming County. We found volunteers taking donations of cleaning supplies, paper products, blankets, and more at Crossroads Community Church in Jersey Shore.

The items are headed to storm victims in Staten Island and Long Island, New York.

"A lot of times we sit back and think, 'ah, well, it looks like they got help.' But we just felt that we needed to make a difference and any little bit that we can do is a tremendous help," said James Gilbert.

Organizers hope to fill up the trailer and deliver the supplies to New York next week.
