EAST STROUDSBURG — For the second time in less than a month charges have been filed against a woman in Monroe County for allegedly committing public assistance fraud.
Investigators claim Dawn Babbitt said she was only making about $29,000 a year so her children could be entitled to the school lunch program at East Stroudsburg Area School District.
The school district notified authorities after seeing Babbitt on the news in October about living in subsidized housing when records show her and her husband made over $96,000 in 2011.
