SUNBURY -- Coats of every style, size and color fill the racks at the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA in Sunbury. The "Y's" 9th annual coat drive is in full swing. Joshua Colon picked out free coats for himself and his kids.

"I found myself one. My son has a couple and my daughter has a scarf and a hat," Colon said.

The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA collected more than 700 men's, women's and children's coats. People can come to the "Y" and pick out coats for everyone in their family for free.

"There are people who come back every year. We do it during the week of Thanksgiving, so it's nice to give back to the community," Program Director Ann Dzwonchyk said.

When people leave the YMCA, they know they're leaving with a clean coat. A company out of Selinsgrove dry cleans all of the coats, hats and scarves for free.

"Without them, we'd just be having the coats, but at least when people leave here they leave with nice clean coats. Sometimes they come in, put the coat on, and leave wearing it," Dzwonchyk said.

Jocelynne Clark was excited about her find. She showed off her new accessories.

"A hat and gloves and a scarf," Clark said.

"My daughter is very important to me, and I'm just grateful to the YMCA. Our coats looked messed up and we could come here and pick up some coats so we can stay warm," Colon said.

Coats can be picked up through tomorrow at the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA on North Fourth Street in Sunbury.
