Police Chase Man Through Four Counties

MUNCY — State police were involved in a high-speed chase through four counties early Saturday morning.

Troopers said they were trying to conduct a traffic stop around 1:40 a.m. on Robert Steele, 42, of Muncy when he took off and led police on a chase for over 35 miles.

State police said the chase went through Lycoming, Columbia, Montour, and Northumberland counties.  Police were finally able to stop the vehicle and took Steele into custody.

He faces felony fleeing and eluding and DUI charges.

Troopers said no one was seriously hurt during the chase.
