Lakeland and Wyoming Area face off Friday night in the AA District 2 championship football game.
Wyoming Area is coming off a 49-14 win over Lake Lehman last Friday. Lakeland enters this game with an (8-3) record and a four game winning streak. The Chiefs defeated GAR last Friday 35-17 to get here. The Chiefs three losses came to Valley View, Carbondale and Dunmore by a combined 16 points.
Wyoming Area is (9-2) on the year and currently not ranked in the 2012 Super 16 countdown. The Warriors are on an eight game winning streak. Their last loss came back in week three to Lake Lehman by one point. Wyoming Area’s only other loss was to Scranton Prep. The Cavaliers are currently playing in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The winner in District 2 gets the winner of the District 11 playoffs starting next week. Catasauqua plays Pen Argyl for that championship on Saturday night at 7pm.
