Southern Columbia enters Friday's District 4 "A" title game with a perfect (11-0) record and the #3 ranking in the 2012 Super 16 countdown. The Tigers are coming off a 28-21 win over Line Mountain in last Friday's district semi-final. Head coach Jim Roth is going for win #341 in his career at Southern Columbia.

The Tigers state titles came in 1994, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.

New York Giants running back Henry Hynoski addressed the Southern Columbia football team at the end of Wednesday's practice. Hynoski is home on break while the NY Giants are in their bye week.

South Williamsport defeated Bloomsburg 32-16 last week. The Mounties lost to Southern Columbia 42-21 back in week 4. The District 4 champions plays either Old Forge or Dunmore next week in the PIAA State playoffs.

Southern and Old Forge played last year in the state playoffs at Shamokin with the Tigers taking the game then defeating Pius 55-25, Penns Manor 37-6, and losing to Clariton in the state final 35-19.
