MAHONING TOWNSHIP — A salute to veterans took place Monday at Geisinger Medical Center in Montour County.
The ceremony on the hospital grounds near Danville included speeches and the raising of the stars and stripes.
“Male or female, whatever war, you’re a brother or a sister. That’s what it’s been like with every veteran I’ve seen. We have a rapport,” said Charles Marsters.
Veterans Day, which was Sunday, coincides with the day World War I ended November 11, 1918.
It became a national holiday to honor veterans of all wars in 1954.
