Abductions Near University Under Investigation

EAST STROUDSBURG — Police have issued a warning for people in part of Monroe County.

Police believe a woman from East Stroudsburg University was assaulted and then abducted while walking near the school’s campus last weekend.

According to the victim, two men pushed her to the ground on North Green Street around 11 p.m. Saturday. The men then forced her into an older model, dark red, four-door sedan, driven by another person. One of the men claimed to have a gun.

The student was able to escape.

Police in Monroe County said there have been two similar incidents in the same area within the past three months.
