CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP -- Power outages are still a problem in Monroe County. So much so, that the Red Cross has opened up warming stations.

Warming stations are places to warm up, take a hot shower, and recharge your electronic equipment.

Thousands are still without power in Monroe County, and the Red Cross has opened up another shelter.

This one is at Pleasant Valley Middle School in Brodheadsville.

The Pleasant Valley superintendent gave us a tour of what residents can expect when they come into the warming station located inside the middle school gymnasium.

Inside is a huge area to plug in cellphones and other electronics to restore battery power. Also there’s a place to take a hot shower.

In Middle Smithfield Township, officials said Sandy rocked the area. Almost all of the township is still without power. Now the big problem is 90% of the township gets their water from wells, which work off electricity to pump the water to homes and businesses. If there's no electricity, there's no running water. That's why bottled water is such a hot commodity.

Case after case was unloaded and stacked into piles inside the Country Club of the Poconos near Marshalls Creek.

Residents were also stopping by, stocking up on water, and enjoying running water as well.

“We can get bottled water, which I`m having trouble getting at the stores. Hopefully our goal for the day,” said Pat Borella of Winona Lakes.

“We need water. This is a wonderful thing for the club house for them to offer. They told us we can take showers here too,” said Claudia Mutis of Middle Smithfield Township.
