TUNKHANNOCK — A rash of car break-ins is under investigation in Wyoming County.Police said it began when Hurricane Sandy ripped through.
Officers believe someone started smashing windows and stealing valuables from inside vehicles in the Tunkhannock area Monday night and they haven’t stopped.
“It’s kind of scary because I always keep my keys in my car and my son’s stuff sometimes,” said Brittany File of Tunkhannock. “So I keep everything, everything locked up and make sure it doesn’t get broken into.”
Authorities said there have been about 15 break-ins near Tunkhannock since Monday and half a dozen more in the borough itself.
