MONTROSE — A boy was killed in Susquehanna County after a tree limb fell on him.

State police say an 8-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon at a home along Bronson Hill Road in Franklin Township, near Montrose.

Troopers said the boy and his father were outside together when it happened. Officials say it was not raining at the time but a strong gust of wind caused the limb to break.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
