MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP — Charges against one man originally arrested for torching a home in Monroe County have been dropped.
State police said charges against Nicholas Hauser have been withdrawn.
It was back in January when firefighters were called to put out flames at this home off Coolbaugh Road near Marshalls Creek.
Police said Brandon Hallett, 19, Anthony Alkema, 21, and Nikolas Alkema, 23, all of East Stroudsburg, are now charged with burglary and arson.
According to investigators, the men stole a more than a dozen guns and gold coins from the home, before setting it on fire.
