FACTORYVILLE — The United States Attorney’s Office charged seven people with tax fraud on Thursday.

According to court documents, Russell Trauger, age 63, and Harold Trauger, age 66, both of Factoryville, Pennsylvania; Donald Murley, age 60, Laura LaPorta Chapman, age 45, of Palm, Pennsylvania; and Bryan Cavage, age 32, of Harker Heights, Texas, each face a charge of filing fraudulent income tax returns and claimed false refunds.

If found guilty, they each face up to five years behind bars and a fine of $250,000. 

An investigation by the Internal Revenue Service also found evidence to charge Laurie Cavage, age 41, of Factoryville, Pennsylvania, and Tara Trauger-Walsh, age 34, of Dalton, Pennsylvania with mailing documents claiming fraudulent refunds.

The women each face one year in prison along with a fine of $100,000.
