Fugitive Found, Faces Sex Charges

SCRANTON — A U.S. Marshal found and arrested Joshua Baker, 27, Friday in Manhattan, New York after Baker was on the run from authorities since October 20.

State police charged Baker, of Mehoopany, with five counts of various sexual assault offenses.  Troopers said Baker fled Mehoopany last Saturday to escape officers.

On October 24, investigators learned Baker may have traveled to New York by bus.  With the help of the U.S. Marshals, he was located on his arrival in Manhattan.

Baker is expected to be arraigned in New York and extradited back to Pennsylvania.
