Garage Fire Burns Home
PENN TOWNSHIP — One man was taken to a hospital after a Monday afternoon blaze at a home in Penn Township.
Crews said the fire started around 12:30 p.m. in a garage of a home on Hazlewood Drive.
Firefighters said they had a tough time dousing the fire because of the lack of hydrants in the area. Crews set up a shuttle to bring water to their trucks.
Authorities said a man was taken to a local hospital for either breathing in smoke. The Red Cross is helping the four residents.
According to crews, the garage was destroyed and the home was damaged.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
