DANVILLE -- If you drive down Mill Street in Danville, you may notice some of the storefronts are decorated for Halloween.

Students at Danville High School spent the day painting dozens of windows. They teamed up with business owners to decorate the downtown.

Ghosts and goblins, pumpkins, even witches decorate around 20 storefronts in Danville.

“We're just kind of decorating Danville so we can be ready for the holidays,” said Kalee Hart, a student.

Around 30 students from Danville High School's painting and independent art classes picked up their paint brushes and decorated businesses on Mill Street for Halloween.

“It's a lot of fun, and you can kind of make a dull looking town pop to life and stuff like that,” said Jolene Stassel, a student.

“This one, we're just doing Frankenstein, spider webs and Halloween things,” said Hart.

Around 20 stores allowed the students to paint their front windows. The owners at Collectibles Unlimited said it's a way to bring the community together.

“It puts the unity and the spirit of the town together. It really does,” said Jim Hill of Collectibles Unlimited.

The students said they enjoy bringing the Halloween spirit to downtown Danville.

“I like that I can go around and say I did that. I helped the community look better,” said Laurel Krajewski, a student.

The storefronts will stay decorated throughout October.
