BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP-- A 15-year-old Wilkes-Barre girl died from her injuries after a crash late Sunday night in Luzerne County.

State police said the crash happened just before midnight on Bald Mountain Road in Bear Creek Township, near Wilkes-Barre.

Investigators said the driver of the car, Kenneth Kasuba, 20, of Bear Creek Township, was speeding when he went off the road and hit a ditch, causing the car to roll several times.

Kasuba and passengers Christopher Gillispie, 19, of Bear Creek Township, and Margaret Hughes, 15, of Wilkes-Barre, were all taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley hospital.

Troopers said Hughes was the only one not wearing a seat belt. She died at the hospital from her injuries.

State police have charged Kasuba with reckless endangerment after the crash.
