WILKES-BARRE — A man from Texas is recovering in a Luzerne County hospital after being shot outside a bar in Wilkes-Barre Sunday morning.
Police said Jeremy Perez, 23, of Sweetwater, Texas was walking into the Hardware Bar on South Main Street around 2:00 a.m. when he bumped into a man leaving.
Investigators believe the man, who was with three men and two women, started arguing with Perez when someone in his group fired a gun.
Perez was shot in his right thigh and taken to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. As of Sunday afternoon, he is listed in good condition and is scheduled to be admitted to the hospital for further observation.
Wilkes-Barre Police said the shooter, along with the group, fled the area.
