PLAINS — Firefighters in Luzerne County spent Saturday afternoon dowsing a fire in Plains.
Crews said three people were home at the time the fire started but managed to escape unharmed. Officials believe the blaze began in the third floor of the home.
The second and third floor of the home sustained heavy damage. Fire crews said the family is not be able to return but will be cared for by the Red Cross until repairs can be made.
Wilkes-Barre’s fire chief said an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
