Inmate Sentenced to Life
CANAAN TOWNSHIP — A Wayne County judge sentenced a jailed man to life behind bars for his role in the death of a fellow inmate back in April, 2010.
Allen Hurley, 46, was found guilty in June on charges including manslaughter.
According to court documents, on April 25, 2010, Hurley, an inmate at the United States Penitentiary at Canaan, stabbed Joseph O’Kane 92 times in his own cell.
At the trial, Hurley admitted to the stabbing but the jury dismissed his claim of self-defense.
