CARBONDALE — Police in Lackawanna County added security at Carbondale Area High School after they received word Thursday night about a student threat involving a gun.

Authorities said the presence at the high school Friday was prompted by a Facebook threat to bring a gun to school by a 15-year-old boy who’s ex-girlfriend attends Carbondale Area.

The officers at the school did not allow people into the building during the school day.

Police are still determining if extra security is station at the high school Monday.
