MOOSIC — Lackawanna County Police are searching for a car robber who broke in to some vehicles on Main street Thursday.

According to Moosic officers, one of the victims, a former marine living on Moosic Street, had his car broken into and a precious piece of medical equipment stolen.

Police said the robber took a duffle bag out of the car that contained a “spinal cord stimulator”. The device helps relieve pain for the former marine, who recently had back surgery after being injured in combat.

“It’s imperative we get it back. He starts to suffer through pain and may eventually have to have another surgery if it’s not returned,” said Officer Lauren Cadden.

Police said the device costs $14,000 and another surgery would cost the former marine $100,000.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Moosic Police.
