In just a few hours, folks all across the country will get their first chance to hear President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney duel it out on live television.

Some folks we talked to in the Wyoming Valley on Wednesday said the debates could influence their final decision.

"Could someone who says something different swing your vote? Yes yes. If they`re talking the way I want them to talk then they can get my vote. Hopefully it`s not a bunch of false promises anymore you know how that goes," said Tarieka Hatcher of Wilkes-Barre.

Other voters said they hope their candidate performs well and said what they want to hear.

"I want to hear something about pro-life. I believe Obama doesn`t do pro-life and Romney does. It`s a big issue for me, and I like to see something about the economy getting better," said Sheena Lloyd of Wilkes-Barre.

"I`m trying to see if Barack is going to get back in. That`s what I want because he`s better than that other dude. He just better," said John Wesley McKeithaan of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

If you`re planning to watch the debates, but don`t want to watch alone there are several viewing parties in Wilkes-Barre taking place. The Romney supporters will be meeting at Mulligans, and just down South Main Street from Mulligans in Wilkes-Barre, President Obama`s supporters can watch the debates right at their campaign headquarters.

Across the valley in Edwardsville, more voters said they'll make their final choice for president after tonight.

"To decide who I am going to vote for. I am 75% sure who I am going to vote for, but the debates will decide who I am going to vote for," said Cliff Mountjoy of Kingston.

"I`m undecided because they both lie in the first place. That`s for sure. They`re going to knock down the other guy, say how lousy he is, and that guy's going to knock him down and say how lousy he is," said Andrew Balberchak of Ashley.

The debates will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. on WNEP-TV as well as WNEP.com.
