This is the second in a series of 10 weekly Dancing with the Stars superfan blogs, as authored by contest winner Sarah Palonis, of Jessup.

The first results show following the season premier of Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars kicked off with each celebrity telling America why they wanted to return to the show with both amusing and sincere answers, giving us as fans a closer connection to the all-stars. The couples in jeopardy were Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya, and finally Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus. Drew and Bristol were spared while Pamela was the first to be sent home. If you missed any of the results show you can find recaps at http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/episode-guide.

Week two started off with a Jive by Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani. The Jive was Melissa’s downfall in season 8 causing a rib injury with doctors deeming her unable to perform. However Melissa and Tony proved that they knew what they were doing with their Jive this time around with Len Goodman appropriately saying that they set the bar high for the rest of the show.

Next up with a bang was Bristol and Mark with Bristol losing that shyness, and taking Mark to a shooting range before performing a unique Quickstep. However though the dance was certainly spunky Bristol and Mark did not follow the rules by releasing the hold in the middle of the performance, and having poor technique. This unfortunately earned the pair a combined score of 18.

Helio and Chelsie Jived their way into the hearts of the judges with Carrie Ann letting Helio know his body caught up with his charm. This performance was a joy to for all who were able to watch it and proved why Helio has such a huge following.

Apolo Anton Ohno gave a truly gold medal performance with Karina Smirnoff dancing a Quickstep that proved just how hard the pair has been working and also showing how tough the competition is, and will continue to be.

Sadly week two bought us our first injury of with Sabrina Bryan braving an injury to her arm from being dropped by Louis Van Amstel while attempting a complicated move. However the slight injury didn’t stop the pair from giving it their all with Carrie Ann saying Sabrina’s lines were the best she’s ever seen. This performance earned them the first 9 of the season and a total score of 26 which was the highest of the night.

Also showing great improvement this week was Kirstie, and Maksim who performed the Jive with such a remarkable improvement from last week showing that Kirstie doesn’t let her age keep her from being fierce competition for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

With everyone being fantastic thus far during the show Emmitt and Cheryl had a lot to strive for to remain on top. Their Quickstep didn’t however meet expectations like the other performances of the night, with Emmitt needing work on his frame. Drew and Anna also had a lot to prove this week after facing elimination during the results show and their Jive left quite an impact, though footwork needs to be improved I don’t believe we’ll be seeing them in jeopardy during the results show.

Joey and Kym followed suit with a Quickstep hoping to show off a more technical side, though not having perfect technique Joey did however channel a bit of Charlie Chaplin bringing us a light and fun performance.

Keeping the light mood Shawn and Derek performed the Jive hoping to stay away from the bottom of the leader board which they succeeded in with a performance that showed us what a true sweetheart Shawn is. Following the pair were Kelly and Valentine who did a safe yet elegant Quickstep earning them a 22.

Ending the night Gilles and Peta performed a Jive with Gilles dancing through a hamstring injury which didn’t keep him from doing amazing kicks; his performance was dedicated to his father who passed 17 years ago to the day of the performance.

Every dance this week was fantastic; however I feel Bristol and Mark may be seeing the end of their journey with the lowest score from judges, and only votes from their fans can save them now. If tonight was any indication though this season will definitely be intense!
