The last time Tara Lynch of Pocono Summit saw her boyfriend Joseph King, it was hours before he was brutally killed in August.
"Joseph King is a very loving, kind person. Extremely. He is very loved, everywhere he goes," said Lynch.
Lynch tearfully explained how life has been for her and their one month old son, Jordan Joseph King, since his father was brutally killed last month.
"It's unfortunate he only got two weeks with him, but I am grateful for it. He could have gotten taken before he was even born," said Lynch.
Police just arrested Luis Vasquez for the shooting deaths of Joseph King and Bertoldo Velez.
All three worked together at United Envelope in Mount Pocono.
Last month, police said Vasquez shot and killed the two men at a park near Tobyhanna.
According to police, the suspect owed one of the victims thousands of dollars.
Lynch said she never met Vasquez, but knew he lived in her neighborhood.
The first time she saw her boyfriend's accused killer was on Newswatch 16.
Lynch said what is most upsetting is that her boyfriend was friends with the suspect and Vazquez knew King was a new father.
"He was actually showing him pictures of the baby the week before. Laughing with him, joking with him. He was fully aware that Joe had a newborn at home. Fully aware, and didn't have a care in the world," said Lynch.
Lynch said the day King was killed, she last saw him at his job at United Envelope.
She also made a last-minute decision to bring their two-week old son Jordan along.
She now looks back at the last time they were together as a family and is glad for that moment.
"The last time I saw him was the Thursday he passed away. I went to see him on his lunch break. Something told me to bring the baby to see him, and I did, and that was the last time I saw him," said Lynch.
Luis Vasquez is in the Monroe County Prison.
He's expected back in court next week.
Tara Lynch says she will be in court with Joseph's one month old son.
