Fire in Schuylkill County Labeled Arson
GIRARDVILLE — Officials in Schuylkill County said a fire at a vacant home that happened early Saturday morning is arson.
A fire marshal was at the scene Saturday on 201 B Street in Girardville.
Firefighters were called to the place around 12:30 a.m. when a fire started in a shed in the back of the property.
One firefighter was injured and was treated at the hospital and released.
No one else was hurt.
“All I see is the house lit up and my siding melted and it was just in flames, it was terrible. I thought my house was going to catch on fire,” said neighbor Ed Malinowsk.
The flames did burn siding and cause smoke damage to a few nearby homes.
