WILLIAMSPORT -- The price for one gallon of gas at Citgo on Washington Avenue in Williamsport is $3.97. Drivers took advantage of the two-cent savings. The gas station across the street was $3.99 a gallon.

"It's absolutely terrible. I do landscaping and lawn maintenance as well, and it's $100 just to start a day," Roy Maines said.

Roy Maines spent about $60 filling up his truck in Williamsport. He and most of the other drivers were not happy to pay $3.97 a gallon. Jammie Scantling says the high prices may force her to park her car until the prices go down.

"I'm not happy about it because it seems like it's going up every week. I'm thinking about catching a bus because it's getting very pricey," Scantling said.

There are some ways to save money on gas prices. If you have a smart phone, check out the app called "Gas Buddy". It takes you to the cheapest gas prices in town, you just type in your current location.

"It's up one day and down the next," Maines said.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $3.85. The average price in Pennsylvania is $3.92, which is still lower than Williamsport. Scott Truett was driving through Billtown, and says the prices were still lower than what he pays in upstate New York: $4.10 cents.

"They're better than New York. I just find it funny how someone sneezes across the ocean and all of a sudden gas prices go up. It's silly," Truett said.

All of these drivers say there is nothing they can do except hope the gas prices go down soon.
