WILKES-BARRE -- Investigators have charged a 14-year-old boy in connection with a shooting that happened in Wilkes-Barre Monday evening.

Around 7:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to 86 Hutson Street in Wilkes-Barre after a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest.  Police aren't releasing the victim's name.

But investigators say a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody and will be charged in connection with the shooting.

"Guns, kids it`s sad. Very sad. Access? How do these kids get guns? So young.  Very sad. Very disappointing," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.

"I`m a little freaked out inside. Pretty sad. Right on my back porch I hear a gunshot and mother`s piercing cry probably will never forget about it," added the neighbor.

The shooting on Hutson Street is only three blocks from where Tyler Winstead was shot and killed on Hill Street back in April allegedly by his 14-year-old friend.

The juvenile now in police custody after Monday night's shooting is scheduled to have a hearing Wednesday.  Because he's charged with a felony, by law, that court hearing will be open to the media and the public.

Investigators say we'll learn the names of the people involved at tomorrow's hearing.  The victim remains in critical condition at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
