BUFFALO TOWNSHIP -- Four people are charged in connection with a home invasion and suspicious death in Union County.

They were arrested and arraigned Tuesday morning in Mifflinburg.

State police believe Randy Sampsell, 52, was murdered over drugs.  They say that on June 12, Justin Richard, 28, Herbert Tiebout, 37, and two other men broke into Sampsell’s house in Buffalo Township and shot him in the head. After that, they stole some drugs and left.

According to court papers, the suspects kicked open Sampsell's front door. They saw him sitting in a recliner, and they shot him, which killed him instantly. They stole his prescription drugs and then fled the scene.

"He was a good man. He took pride in everything," Wayne Sampsell said.

Wayne Sampsell says his brother did not deserve what happened to him. He and other family members were in Mifflinburg after the suspects were arrested.

State police say hours before Sampsell was murdered, the men broke into this house in Millmont looking for drugs and money. Instead, they stole 10 guns after assaulting and tying up the man who lives there. Investigators believe one of those guns was the murder weapon .

Two more people were arrested in connection with the crimes: Michael Shetterly II is accused of receiving stolen property. Police say Amanda Kratzer knew both victims, and is accused of helping to plan the robberies. Police also say Kratzer turned the other suspects in.

The investigation into both crimes started after Sampsell's body was found by a family member inside his house more than a week after his murder. Wayne Sampsell says he is happy that four people were arrested.

"Just to see that justice prevailed. The troopers are doing a good job," Wayne said.

Tiebout and Richard were both already in jail on parole violations.  They remain behind bars.  Michael Shetterly II is also locked up, unable to post bail.  Amanda Kratzer is out on bail.  The four are scheduled to be back in court next week.  State police say the investigation continues.
