Visit Melinda Orr of Hidden Hill Farms and Melinda Orr Designs and can bananna peppers with olives from the garden.  This quick method allows you to have peppers from the garden all year round.

Italian Peppers with Olives

  • 2 pecks banana peppers 1/2 hot and 1/2 mild
    Slice in food processor for thin slivers
  • 1 large jar green olives, drained and chopped
    Mix sliced peppers and olives well
    Stuff pint jars full squeezing out any liquid before putting in to jar
    Leave 1/2 space and be sure no peppers are above the mouth of the jar

    SEASONINGS: Add the following in each pint

  • 1t minced garlic
  • 1t oregano dried
  • 1t salt
  • 3T olive oil
  • BRINE
  • 5 C water
  • 2 C white vinegar
    bring water and vinegar  to a boil in sauce pan fill jars to 1/2 below top of jar

    Using vinegar on clean cloth, clean rim of jar and place hot lid with twist cap
    Follow canning procedures and boil for 15 mins...remove and let seal...

    Enjoy on great Artisan bread or add as a topping to your home baked pizza

    Pepper Pizza on the Grill.
    Make or buy pizza dough.
    Roll into a flat pie.
    Place on the grill until dough turns golden brown.
    Flip and grill the other side.
    Add your sauce, canned peppers, cheese or pepperoni.
    Close grill and check until cheese melts.
