HAZLETON -- Authorities in Luzerne County are investigating a bank robbery that happened on Friday.

According to police, a man demanded money from a teller at First National Community Bank on West Broad Street in Hazleton around 9:30 a.m. Friday, got some cash and took off.

Hazleton police said the suspected robber is Kevin Parks, 41, of Scranton. Parks is currently a resident at Minsec Hazleton Treatment Center, a halfway house in Hazleton.

Officials at Minsec helped identify Parks who was out of the facility on a pass.

Investigators say parks then hailed a cab and went to Scranton after drinking a good amount of vodka.

Parks was arrested for public intoxication a short time later in downtown Scranton.

Police then figured out that we was the man wanted for the bank robbery in Hazleton.

Kevin Parks is locked up, and no one was hurt in the robbery.
