HAZLETON — Police in Hazleton and the District Attorney’s office are investigating an Saturday morning homicide.
It happened around 2:00 a.m. on 4th and Alter street where police say there was a fight and shots fired.
Police are on the lookout for the person who shot and killed Erick Gwaltney, 34, of Hazleton and left him lying in the street.
“I heard a couple of gunshots like pow pow pow. Between four to five gunshots. I thought it was fireworks. I look out the window and I see a body in the street,” said Mark Parker, a near-by neighbor.
No arrests have been made.
Hazleton police are calling this deadly shooting an isolated incident.
