BERWICK — A Friday evening fire has left a Columbia County family without a home.

Fire officials said the fire began at a home on West Front Street, in Berwick around 5:45 Friday night.

The fire chief said it took crews about four and half hours to control the fire.  Six people lived in the home and now are homeless.

The chief said there is heavy damage to the first and second floor of the home.  The fire marshal plans to investigate Sunday but crews said the fire does not appear suspicious.

No one was injured.
