MOUNTAIN TOP — A legendary coach returned to the football field Friday night
Coach George Curry, the state’s all-time winningest coach, coached the Berwick Bulldogs Friday for the first time since 2005.
Curry entered the game with 413 wins, racking up 414, with Friday’s victory over the Crestwood Comets 48 to 21.
Fans at the game felt great to have their old coach back on the sidelines.
“It’s a great feeling to have Coach Curry back. It’s been a long time coming. It feels like the old times when we were back in school and we had a great record and a great season. Win or lose, it doesn’t matter. It’s reminiscing about the old times so it’s nice to have him back,” said Shannon Johnson.
