HANOVER TOWNSHIP — The executive director of Luzerne County’s waste water treatment facility has retired in the wake of an investigation.

Fred DeSanto retired from the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority Monday.

DeSanto had been on paid administrative leave since August 15.

Officials with the sanitary authority said DeSanto has been under investigation, but would not explain what he is accused.

The authority plans to submit the findings of their investigation to the Luzerne County district attorney.
