Home Invasion Leads to Police Chase

OLD FORGE -- Police in Luzerne County have one man in custody and still looking for another after a home invasion Tuesday.

According to investigators, a man was in the process of robbing a home on Milwaukee Avenue in Old Forge when the homeowner came home around 5:00 p.m. He caught the thief in the act of stealing a jewelry box.

Police said the homeowner restrained the man for a short time and recovered the jewels but the thief managed to escape before officers arrived.

A foot chase began in a wooded area near Milwaukee Avenue.  Police caught Nathaniel Kauffman, 29, of Scranton and charged him in the home invasion.

Police are looking for a second person who is believed to be involved.  His name is Christopher Condeelis.
