SCRANTON -- A man in Lackawanna County was sentenced Friday after pleaded guilty to to armed robbery charges.

Michael Massey, 24, of Scranton, was handed five years in prison for his involvement in an armed bank robbery at the First Liberty Bank and Trust on Wyoming Avenue in Scranton on May 17, 2011.

According to court files, Massey and Lee Meyers, who was previously sentenced to 42 months in prison, both admitted to the robbery after state police arrested them following a high speed chase on May 27, 2011.

Massey must pay $15,089 to restitution.

Both men are locked up in Lackawanna County jail.
